7: Suit Up

Design Topic 7: Suit Up
Designers, this time, as clued in the title, you will design a suit for the working woman. This is about design being comfortable yet being upscale and stylish. Think about adding a pop of color with a shirt underneath, or even a colorful tweed (optional!). This is due August 16th.

So i've done mine abit eloborately. I cant stand boring suits (ie:chanel). I know suit was suppose to be similar top and bottom, but the main thing is the fabrication used. Here i have a cotton-drill mandarin-collar military jacket with big buttons. The skirt is more flirty and summer-ish in color. I used brush-cotton tartan, green cotton-dril for the panel and the frills (radius-cut), and red-ish blue-ish cotton for the gathers.

Creme poly-cotton for the blouse with brush-cotton tartan for the huge collar (9cm). Vintage belt with studs and rhinestone. Calf-leather boots. Take note that this office wear is (obviously) not suitable for lawyers, office-workers etc. This suit however suits with those people who works in the entertainment business such as PRs', fashion coordinator etc.



I blanked out this week cz i have extremely lots of batiks and shiboris to do. Pardon me if my design is horrible.
