Design Topic 1 : Tailor for the Tropics.
Design an outfit out of materials found on the island to create something rich and high class It's all about INNOVATION. description: haa.. after quite a while brain-storming in the laundry room (dont ask!) i came up with this outfit. i used layers of tree-bark fiber (my bro use it alot for his fine art works so i thought, why not use them?), daun keladi (in english: yam leaf) as the corset and wrapped bananananana leaves as the pants. i also used rambutan seeds as the necklace and spun tree-fibers as the strings to tighten the corset and hold the banana pants. the flower deco attached to her hair is a bunga kantan (english: torch-ginger). note: all the natural materials used in this design are based on the island of tropical rainforest in my country, malaysia. quite neat.. go google 'pulau redang'. referrences: keladi / yam : [link] bunga kantan / torch-ginger : [link] rambutan / rambutan : [link] ps: im not sure if this design is for the high class. but it would be suitable for high-class people on casual sunday. but hey, i can always make another one. the dateline is still... um, a week to go. lalalala. ok ok. enough. enjoy!  pps: the head is a big screw-up cz when i was about to snap the picture of it, the paper moved. shait! |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Good: Nice variation of materials I love love love the whole look though. very innovative
Bad: Bark would be uncomfortable, even is it was paper like. looks non-rich. strings on the pant, maybe just sew the leaves together without the strings

I have always tried to design things that are unapologetically beautiful, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. If I can inspire an appreciation for grace and elegance, that would be the ultimate fulfillment of my life's ambition.

I have always tried to design things that are unapologetically beautiful, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. If I can inspire an appreciation for grace and elegance, that would be the ultimate fulfillment of my life's ambition.
